Dr. Roizental is a Board Certified Vascular and Interventional Radiologist. Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, where he served as the Chief of Vascular & Interventional Radiology at Policlínica Metropolitana, and Fellowship Director. His experience in endovascular procedures spans over 20 years. In addition to his vast experience in a variety of arterial and venous therapies, his special interest and expertise in minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins and uterine fibroids, has pioneered the procedures of Endovenous Laser Ablation and Uterine Artery Embolization in Latin America since 1999.
- Dr. Roizental received his medical degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. He completed his radiology residency at Deaconess Hospital, Harvard Medical School where he served as chief resident, and his vascular and interventional radiology fellowship at the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute.
- He is renowned for his outstanding research on the endovascular management of vascular disease.
- He has conducted significant studies in this area at Harvard University, Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute, and the Universidad Central de Venezuela and Policlinica Metropolitana Caracas.
- He has written extensively and presented his findings at annual meetings for national and international societies. He is also a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology and currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the Iberoamerican Society of Interventional Radiology SIDI.
Linda Anne Hughes, MD is a board certified Vascular and Interventional Radiologist with more than twenty-five years experience. She received her medical degree from Boston University and completed her Radiology Residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr Hughes, a native of Boston, came to South Florida in 1997 where she completed her Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship at the Baptist Cardiac and Vascular Institute.
In 1998 Dr Hughes was hired to develop the Interventional Radiology Department at Holy Cross Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, FL. She spent six years developing the program prior to being recruited to Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL. During her two year tenure there she was instrumental in furthering their Vascular and Interventional Radiology program, including opening the interventional lab at Memorial Miramar Hospital. In 2006, Dr Hughes then served two years as Chief of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at North Ridge Medical Center.
Dr Hughes spent ten years with Broward Health where she brought a broad wealth of knowledge and experience with regard to the most cutting edge technologies.
Dr Hughes has coauthored a number of publications in cardiovascular and interventional radiology including a textbook chapter on UFE. She is a member of a number of local and national societies including the Fort Lauderdale Caducean Medical Society and Fort Lauderdale Surgical Society.
With her dedication to providing excellent interventional services to South Florida, and as Unique Interventional Radiology (UIR) continues to expand services to the South Florida community, UIR is pleased to announce that in August 2018 Dr Hughes joined UIR serving as Medical Director for the Broward UIR Center.
Dr. Gonzalez-Beicos, MD graduated from medical school in Caracas, Venezuela. He did a year of surgical internship and a year of research fellowship in radiology in Boston, MA, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital respectively. He then completed his Radiology Residency at Yale New Haven Hospital-St Raphael Campus. He then specialized in Vascular and Interventional Radiology by completing a fellowship at New York University- Langone Medical Center. Early in his career, he spent 5 years at the University of Miami as an Assistant Professor of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, obtaining ample experience in all areas of interventional radiology including interventional oncology. He helped start a program to treat painful metastatic bone lesions using radio-frequency ablation.
Dr. Gonzalez-Beicos then moved to private practice at Holmes Regional Medical Center, where he developed extensive expertise in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease and venous thrombosis. He was responsible for the implementation of a prostate artery embolization program for the treatment of urinary symptoms from an enlarged prostate gland, bringing this new procedure to the area. He then moved to back to Miami and became the Medical Director for the Unique Interventional Radiology Mid-Town office.
Dr. Gonzalez-Beicos is experienced and enjoys all aspects of Interventional Radiology, but he has a special interest in the treatment of uterine fibroids, enlarged prostates, spinal compression fractures, and peripheral arterial disease.
